Tegal Yoso village is located in Purbolinggo District, East Lampung Regency, Lampung Province. Nothing special in this village, this village is bordering to Way Kambas National Park (TNWK), it is similar to another suburban villages. It is far away from supermarket and hotels. Without beaches, hills, village sunrise, as well as village potential that show up to the world.

In 2020, Tegal Yoso Village was starting to change the face of the village with the presence of the smart village program; it was initiated by the Governor and Deputy Governor of Lampung. This program aims to optimize services to the society to be more professional, transparent, effective and efficient. Deliver public information that can be accessed easily, cheaply, anywhere and anytime.
In 2021, the presence of the Way Seputih Conservation Foundation (YKWS) and the Forum for the Environment (WALHI) in Tegal Yoso Village played a very important role in realizing the implementation of smart village.
This foundation teaches the society members to recognize village history, society trends when changes happen, society local wisdom, mapping potentials and problems, studying livelihoods and seasonal calendars, as well as discovering the concept of society empowerment.
The empowerment of the Tegal Yoso society has begun to be organized, starting with revitalizing the use of the yard as a vegetable growing area, cultivating honey clanceng (Trigona), Village Schools and culinary tourism. Of course the current challenge is to ensure its sustainability.

Recently, (04/08/2022) Tegal Yoso Village again received a visit from the Asean Center for Biodiversity (ACB) with the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, accompanied by the Way Kambas National Park and the Jakarta Penabulu Foundation as Service Providers. The purpose of the group's arrival was to see the results of the implementation of the Natural Resource Potential Optimization Program in Tegal Yoso Village.
Ir. Isyanto as the program manager explained the details of the activities followed by a question and answer dialogue with the beneficiaries.
Puspitawati, head of the women farmer group (KWT) of Kebumen Cinta Lestari, one of the 3 KWT beneficiaries, gave testimony on the results of the program implementation. As a housewife, Puspitawati said that her members were able to turn their yard into a vegetable garden for family consumption, some of which could even be sold.
Meanwhile, the forest farmer group, apart from being able to increase the production of clanceng honey (Apis Trigona), has also succeeded in organizing the Bee School. The increased capacity for these two KTHs has resulted in an additional income of Rp. 35,000,000, as long as run of the program.
To Tegalyoso.id Mrs. Sarah from the Philippines expressed her impression of being able to visit Tegal Yoso Village. "I am very happy to be able to visit Tegal Yoso Village, even though it is far from the city, but I see people here, busy helping each other with enthusiasm to carry out the program," said Sarah.
On the same occasion, the Secretary of the Tegal Yoso Village (Eksas Yulianto) conveyed to the Asean Center for Biodiversity (ACB), "We, the Village Government and the Tegal Yoso society, would like to thank you for all the assistance that has been and will come, by ACB to us. This helps us a lot”
On the other hand, through a micro program, a Mitigation Protocol has also been agreed in interactions with wild elephants to ensure the safety of residents and animals. As a guide for residents, this SOP has been established through the Decree of the Village Headman of Tegal Yoso.
Overall, ACB as a provider of funds was satisfied with the results achieved from the empowerment program in Tegal Yoso. [...]
